SecondConf 2012 Pre-Party Meetup Info

Last year’s pre-party went so well, I’m going to try to coordinate one this year too.

Last year, the Thursday before SecondConf about 16 folks (mostly local & a few out of towers that got in early), gathered at Duke of Perth for a great time and great Scotch (the Duke is a great Scotch bar).

I just wanted to give folks a heads up and ask you to follow me (@ChicagoBob) or SecondConf (@SecondConf).  About 3 weeks before SecondConf, I’ll be asking for a headcount of folks interested in attending a pre-party, and will let everyone know the final plans then, we might try to go back to Duke of Perth, or try some place new - stay tuned.

PS: include disclaimer.h, the pre-party is extra and not part of ScondConf.

Atlas Shrugged movie review

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.
